Jay Steven Adelson is best known as the founder and chief technology officer of Equinix, Inc., which he founded in 1998. He is currently the CEO of Digg and chairman of Revision3 Corporation. Prior to Equinix, he was one of the founders of the PAIX in 1996, before its purchase by Switch and Data in 2003. In 1993, he ran network operations at Netcom (USA), before leaving for Digital Equipment Corporation to become Operations Manager of the PAIX.

On July 15, 2003, he testified before the United States House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Emerging Threats, Cybersecurity, and Science and Technology, as part of an industry panel on "The Private Sector's Role in Keeping America's Cyberspace Secure."
