Product FAQ
How often do I have to change the batteries on Overflow?
Overflow batteries should last approximately two years, but we recommend that you change the batteries annually to ensure Overflow is always working properly.
Do both probes need to be in contact with the water?
Yes. Both probes must be in the water for Overflow to detect the presence of water.
Can the Overflow probes be in contact with metal?
If the probes touch metal, Overflow will incorrectly report the detection of water. If you would like to use Overflow close to a metal surface, like a water heater pan, place the sensor so the probes are hovering just above the surface or put a piece of electrical tape on the surface so the probes are not in direct contact with the metal.
Can Overflow detect the absence of water?
Yes. You can have the Wink app alert you if the Overflow probes are in contact with water and then lose contact, signaling the absence of water.

Using Wink
Determine Range
Overflow must be within range of the Wink Hub / Wink Hub 2. Pair Overflow in the area it will be mounted to ensure connectivity.
Sign Up
Open the Wink app on your mobile device and log in with your email address and password. If this is your first time using the Wink app, tap Sign Up to create an account.
Follow App Instructions
Follow instructions on the Wink app. Please wait to pull the tab on the side of Overflow until prompted by the Wink app. When the Wink app displays “Success,” Overflow is connected.
