Wink Releases Smart Lighting Kit and New Software to Amplify Home Safety
Introducing Wink Bright™, Home Sitter™, and Moonlight™

NEW YORK, June 6, 2017 — Today, Wink introduced Wink Bright™, the smart lighting essentials kit created for people who are interested in the smart home, but aren’t sure where to begin. Wink Bright works with two new home safety services – Home Sitter™ and Moonlight™ – available as part of the 6.0 release of the Wink mobile app.

According to Wink’s Smart Home Index – which uncovered smart home consumer behavior patterns nationwide – 44% of Americans who purchased a connected product did so to keep their home safe. Wink Bright, Home Sitter, and Moonlight are the first step in Wink’s strategy to solve pain points in home safety by blending new hardware and software experiences.

“In-home studies overwhelmingly showed that light is an intrinsic part of how our users view safety and security in the home,” said Jeff Bartenbach, Head of Experience, Wink. “We also learned that people want specific solutions to specific problems when it comes to the smart home. Wink Bright, Home Sitter, and Moonlight were designed to be exactly that: friendly, non-intimidating, and actionable home safety solutions.”

Wink Bright

Wink Bright contains one Wink Hub 2 and two SYLVANIA Smart A19 Dimmable light bulbs. Furthering Wink’s commitment to minimizing smart home setup, Wink Bright is a plug-and-play solution that arrives to consumers with the light bulbs already connected to Wink Hub 2. Once plugged in and connected to home internet, the Wink app automatically detects Wink Bright, ushering users through a simplified setup in under two minutes.

Home Safety Services

Home Sitter and Moonlight work with all Wink-compatible lighting products – including Wink Bright – to provide friendly, non-intimidating home safety solutions. Both can be found in a new Services tab within the Lights & Power section of the Wink mobile app.

Home Sitter makes users’ homes look lived in when they’re away by turning lights on and off in a natural pattern that mimics human activity. Wink ensures the cadence never looks forced - Home Sitter won’t turn lights on and off during broad daylight or at 4am when most people are asleep.

Moonlight ensures users always return to a well-lit home by turning smart lights on and off at predetermined times. Moonlight works with both indoor and outdoor lights and automatically defaults to local sunrise and sunset times to create a warm, inviting environment.

Wink Bright has an MSRP of $119 (U.S.) and is available for pre-order starting today at,, and Orders will be begin to be fulfilled within one to two weeks.

Home Sitter and Moonlight are free services available as part of the 6.0 release of the Wink mobile app. The Wink mobile app is available for free download through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
